See Spot Run on 21 offers a variety of group training classes, private lessons and day training services for dogs of all ages. Our training services are designed to help owners create strong, lasting bonds with their furry companion. We believe training should be a fun and positive experience for everyone involved. All classes are held in See Spot Run’s indoor training center.

 

Puppy Basics

Start off on the right foot (and paw). This class covers the fundamentals of puppy ownership ranging from beginner cues to puppy socialization. Puppy playtime will be included at the end of each class.

What to Expect:

Adolescent manners

Ready to get started with beginner skills? This class is designed to help teenager pups become well-mannered adult dogs. Class is limited to 4 dog/handler teams to allow for individualized attention for your growing and changing dog.

  • Socialization and Neutrality

  • Leash Walking 

  • Commands such as sit, down, come, stay, leave it, touch,

Does your companion need a refresher in etiquette? This class covers all essential skills from recall and “stay” to canine enrichment to help you become a great pack leader. We ask that your dog is comfortable with other dogs and strangers.

AKC Canine Good Citizen

Looking to take your training to the next level? This class teaches the skills and behaviors needed to pass the American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen test. After completion of the 6 week course, dog-handler teams will be tested and eligible to earn the AKC CGC title. The test fee is included with class! What to Expect: 

  • Commands such as sit, down, stay, come, heel

    • Without lures, food rewards, or aids

  • Sit politely for petting and light handling

  • Appropriate reaction to distractions such as loud noises and crowds

  • Ability to be calm and friendly when left with a stranger

  • Greet another dog and handler politely

AKC novice trick dog

Looking to strengthen your bond and teach your dog some party tricks? This class teaches thirteen fun tricks recognized by the American Kennel Club. Day Training

Finding the time and knowing what steps to take when it comes to training our dogs can be stressful. Let us do the training for you! This service is offered to dog owners who need help jump starting their dog’s training journey. With this service, our trainer helps to get your dog’s training started off on the right foot (and paw) by working one-on-one with your dog - no need for you to be present! Day training can take place in-home or a location of your choice (park, pet-friendly store, etc.).

Day training begins with an initial consultation with the trainer and owner. After discussing your training expectations, our trainer will move forward with day training your pup. We recommend starting with a minimum of three day training sessions per month. After each set of three day training sessions, the trainer will meet with the owner for a private session to discuss progress.

Hannah Combs

Hannah would love to teach you how to train your pup so that you can create a strong bond together. Hannah utilizes her knowledge from numerous training courses focusing on topics such as separation anxiety, senior dog mobility and massage, canine enrichment, leash reactivity, and building reciprocity in human and dog relationships. Hannah believes that each dog has their own way of learning and is open to customizing a training plan that tailors to both you and your dog.

Hannah has been a part of SSR’s team since March 2017. You may also recognize her as one of our Enrichment Daycare Counselors or from helping out at the front desk. Hannah played an important role in helping us create our Enrichment Daycare program. She continues to find new and engaging Enrichment activities to keep your pup busy.

Sydney Schoenberger

Sydney views herself as a “dog OWNER trainer” because she will teach you how to train your pup. Sydney utilizes her knowledge from numerous training courses focusing on various topics such as shelter dog acclimation, working dog performance, reactivity, dog behavior, and canine enrichment.

Sydney is open minded about all types of training and will customize techniques based on the dog’s temperament and personality while aligning with the owner’s personal beliefs. Sydney believes that progress is based on a dog’s learning ability and their past experiences as well as an owner’s commitment and time. Sydney has been a part of SSR’s team since May of 2022. You may also recognize Sydney as our Front of House Team Lead.
