Frequently Asked Questions
What should I bring with my dog for their boarding stay?
Meals & Medications - We do ask you to bring along your pet’s own food to help avoid upset tummies caused by a sudden change of diet. However, we are more than happy to provide a nutritious diet of Fromm Adult Gold for your pet if you choose for a nominal fee of $3.50 per day, per pet. All pets are fed according to the owner’s specifications and following the same meal time routine pets are used to at home. We provide the food and water bowls, so no need to bring any dishes from home!
Bedding - All dogs are offered a raised hammock-like Kuranda® bed in their suite. A pet’s personal favorite bed or item from home is always welcome during their stay for added comfort and familiarity. We do ask that any bedding you wish to bring is washable. Be sure to only bring items that won’t be missed if chewed, damaged or misplaced.
Personal Items - You are welcome to bring your pet’s own personal items along for the stay. We do ask that any items—including bedding—you bring can be washed and dried. To help us keep track of these items, please mark all belongings with your pet’s first and last name and check to make sure all items are accounted for upon pick up. Be sure to only bring items that won’t be missed if chewed, damaged or misplaced.
What suite size is perfect for my dog?
Our suite sizes are suitable for any dog! Most dogs can fit in any size, however, if you have a giant breed, we highly recommend a 4x6 or larger. If your pup isn’t use to being confined, or if you plan on bringing a crate or larger plush bed from home, we recommend choosing a larger suite. Stop in for a tour anytime during our open hours to see all of our suite sizes. This is usually the easiest way for you to decide what the best option is for your pup.
Do you provide dishes?
Yes, all of our boarding guests receive stainless steel food and water bowls. If your pup has a special bowl such as a slow feeder you are more than welcome to send that along.
How often does my dog get to go outside?
Without additional services, your dog will get four potty breaks a day. These potty breaks will be up to 15 minutes long depending on weather. Let out times are between 6am-8am. 10am-11am, 3pm-4pm, and the final potty break between 8pm-10pm. Our 6’ X 6’ VIP Suites include priority concierge service so that your pup will go out first in the morning and last at night. We recommend this option for puppies and elderly dogs. If you choose to add on additional services such as individual sessions or extra potty breaks, your dog will have a fifth time outside.
What time will be dog be fed?
We feed our boarding dogs three times a day beginning at 6am, 11am and 4pm. If you have time sensitive medications or specific feeding instructions, our feeding times can be altered for your dog. Be sure to specify this with our front desk when you make your reservation.
Are you able to administer medications?
We are able to administer almost any type of medication including insulin. Please note that we are not allowed to administer any type of flea and tick preventatives that contain insecticides or pesticides (including oral preventatives).
Are you able to feed refrigerated food such as raw or pre-made?
Yes! We’re able to refrigerate any items needed so that we can feed your pup whatever they are use to. We’ve seen it all, so please send whatever your pup loves the most!
Do I need to add-on additional services?
No, additional services are not required. You know your dog’s energy level best. If they need extra time to run around, we highly recommend daily additional services. We recommend booking your additional services when you make your reservation. Spots are limited!
Can I call to check on my dog during their stay?
Absolutely; in fact, we encourage it! We are happy to provide updates anytime. We know that leaving your pup behind isn’t always easy so we’re happy to help make your time away as enjoyable as possible.
Do you have a boarding cancellation policy?
We require customers to provide 48 hours notice prior to the start time of 8:00am on the day of your reservation to avoid a cancellation fee. If cancelled less than 48 hours in advance, you may be charged a cancellation fee of 50% of the intended stay using the payment method on file.
Boarding tips
Book early! Our boarding area often reaches capacity, so we recommend booking your dog’s stay with us as soon as you have the dates. Book extra days if you are unsure as we can always shorten your dog’s stay. We do ask for a 48 hour notice to cancel or change your reservation.
Add services at the time of booking. You can add services to your dog’s stay anytime, however, our services fill up quickly! We do ask for a 24 hour notice to remove our Enrichment Daycare services.
We can customize your dog’s boarding stay to fit their needs. We offer Enrichment Daycare, individual staff sessions, stuffed peanut butter Kongs, grooming, and much more! Contact us for more information.
Take a tour! We offer tours anytime, no appointment needed. This way you can envision where your dog will be staying and select the suite size that you think will best suit them. We can’t wait to show you around!
Create learning history. Sometimes staying at a new facility can be nerve-wracking for us and our furry companion. Bringing your dog in for a day board or overnight stay to learn the routine and environment will help them adjust quicker for future stays. We want your dog to be as comfortable as possible! If you’re interested in our Enrichment Daycare services, we highly recommend scheduling an Evaluation prior to your dog’s first boarding stay so that your dog has a chance to acclimate. This also helps you to know how to schedule services during boarding (not all dogs pass their evaluation on the first day, and that’s ok!).
Complete paperwork prior to checking in. We will need a new client form completed as well as signed contracts and updated vaccine records. Completing this beforehand helps us ensure that our check-in process runs smoothly and efficiently so that we can get you on your way in a timely manner. New client? Register here.
Bring belongings from home. If your dog has any blankets, toys, chews, or other items that smell like home, please send them along. Familiar items may help your pup settle in and feel more comfortable.
Picky Eater? It’s very common for dogs to not eat while they’re away from home. We have bone broth and canned food that we will add after 24 hours to help entice your pup to eat. If you know your dog has an allergy or preference we recommend bringing your own add-ins from home.
Thank you for choosing SSR! We can’t wait to care for your pup.
