Enrichment Daycare
Enrichment Daycare is a guided, active, indoor/outdoor learning program which includes small group play sessions along with individualized one-on-one activities. We have learned that one size does not fit all when it comes to dog daycare. Gone are the days of large group continuous play. Instead, we have groups of 12 dogs per staff member to ensure more individualized attention.
Imagine a children’s daycare: the children participate in learning activities, games, and play time paired with rest time to recharge throughout their day. This is what we are introducing to you in the dog daycare world! Not only will your dog be playing with other dogs, they will also be working on obedience, learning new activities, and playing games with their friends! Each day your dog comes, they will be hand picked to play in a specific group of dogs tailored to their energy levels.
Staff will implement training exercises, work on group behaviors and plan activities for the group. Enrichment Daycare engages dogs physically, mentally, and emotionally while rotating activities each hour.
Benefits
• More value-added activities for your dog that engages their social, sensory, physical, and cognitive abilities
• A unique combination of playtime, individualized attention with staff, and fun activities
• Rotation among several activities and small group play times to provide variety daily, weekly, and monthly
• Puzzles and activities provide mental exercise, which is just as tiring as physical exercise
• Mental stimulation builds your dogs confidence and self-control
Throughout the day, your dog’s Enrichment Daycare activities will rotate every hour. Between group play time, small group enrichment, group obedience, and rest time, your dog will have a variety to enjoy every time they visit! Ideally, your dog will attend Enrichment Daycare on a regularly scheduled day(s) so we are able to match them with the social and physical group that they will enjoy and benefit from most. We recommend bringing your dog at a minimum of one day per week and a maximum of three days per week. Consistently scheduled days help ensure our staff is familiar with your dog’s normal behaviors so we can easily work on any changes in training and behavior. We offer one, two, and three day a week packages to make morning check in and afternoon pick up a smooth, efficient process.
Drop off and pick up times are very important with our Enrichment Daycare model to ensure your dog is participating in the entire day of activities. We recommend dropping your dog off between 6:00am to 8:00am and picking up between 3:00pm to 6:00pm so that your pup doesn’t miss out on the fun.
Evaluation
Before your dog joins our Enrichment Daycare pack, they will need to complete an evaluation. To participate in daycare, your dog needs to be at least 12 weeks of age and needs to be spayed or neutered by 7 months old to continue their time in daycare. During their evaluation, staff will best determine their temperament and energy level to decide which pack suites them best. Your pup will slowly be introduced to their daycare pack and will become familiar with our activities and equipment. Our goal with an evaluation is to make sure your dog enjoys the daycare setting and utilizes their time productively. Upon pick up, we will send you home with a form to let you know how they did in the daycare pack. When bringing your dog in for an evaluation, keep in mind that they will need to be here from 7:30AM-3PM, but they are always welcome to stay all day.
